Spring break was coming up and I was missing my daughter so much. I was hoping that Tracy would be planning on coming home as soon as possible. When I spoke with her regarding her plans, she said that a lot of her friends were planning a trip to Florida and she was thinking of joining them on this trip. I was so disappointed but didn’t want to ruin her fun. I really wanted to spend some time with my daughter. I am a single mom and we have been very close and have a wonderful relationship. She asked if she could put this trip on my credit card, as through the school they would be getting the best-priced tickets. Reluctantly, I agreed and knew I would be sad not being able to see my daughter on this break. To my surprise, the first day of spring break, my daughter showed up at home and told me to pack my bags. She had made arrangement for us to go on a trip for a few days alone to spend some quality time together. After giving her a big hug, she said she decided that she would rather spend her spring break with her “best-friend” than with her school buddies.
