NOT ENOUGH TIME
Aren’t they finished yet? I’ve only got a million and one things to do this afternoon after I take Missy home from dance practice. Oh, that’s right, I almost forgot to write it down, I need to stop at the auditorium box-office and reserve seats for Holiday on Ice. Missy and Carly want so badly to see that this December. It’s after three, why are they taking so long. I sure hope I can snarf the best-priced tickets. Everything is costing so much this year and Carly’s going to start at Francis Parker in September……expensive, expensive……then, we promised the Bakers we would meet them at Everest for New Year’s Eve……I’ve got to stop downtown and get a new outfit, I can’t find anything I want to wear for that. It seems like nothing is quite good enough for that place. God, it’s three-ten already and they’re still in there? Let me see, I have to stop at the food mart, pick up Carly, stop and get gas for the car, put an advance order in at Jinx for her school wardrobe, go bring Dee Dee to the vet’s office and be home in time to cook dinner for Earl. That’s all. Only two hours (or less!) to do all that. I may actually have to sacrifice the Holiday on Ice tickets—I just hope Missy doesn’t remind me on the way to Carly. Maybe if I’m lucky neither one will mention it today. Maybe they’ll both be preoccupied with all sorts of other stuff. Finally she’s let them loose. At a quarter after three, no less.
